For the first time in a while our family had a little holiday together – the chosen spot? A 3 x 1 mile island called Lundy. To get to the island you have to take a 2 hour boat trip, of which you bags are placed inside a crate and winched on with a crane.
It is a great looking place. It doesn’t have many trees on top but instead a barren stretch that looks a bit like the no forest (if it had no trees). It only has one pub and a single shop to get the essentials. You basically live off pub food the entire time you’re there, with a few drinks with it. Then you trundle back to your cottage, just before the electricity is turned off at 11pm.
